Jasper County should really consider Privitizing their emergency medical services…

You could decrease the cost to the county, get rid of a major headache and provide Excellent advanced life support care…

As a former employee, I can tell you that the level of care rendered has been reduced drastically.

I’ve heard time and again ” It cost you so many good paramedics and EMTs” but yet no one has yet to name one that left that was any good. Of the accounts I have heard of some who are no longer at EMS, the leaving of some is a blessing as they did a poor job of taking care of patients and doing their paperwork. On the other side of that, how many left because of the working conditions, pay, or lack of support from department heads, the county manager, and the BOC?

On another note….Mary actually was MOSTLY correct on her reporting of this event. One or two things are left to question and lack evidence of validation But we will see in time what is and is not correct.

Speaking of people who are not qualified to serve in a certain job, the County Manager aka Mike Benton is not qualified to be a county manager in any county. Why have his credentials and position not been questioned and answers sought as to why a suitable replacement for that job has not been advertised for as required by regulations? Jasper County would be better served by a different and more competent county manager who has control over the day to day operations.

One last thought…..those who feel some sort of gladness that Mr. Gregory is no longer the director at the EMS department should remember one thing. How do you know that the next person hired for that position is going to bring you happiness? They may in fact bring you far greater misery than you ever thought. Jasper County is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. And next time you may get a hell of a lot worse.

About time, too bad it took so long and cost you so many good paramedics and EMTs maybe you can get them back if Debra leaves too!
