According to the report today, a private company is considering buying the public entity, and Jasper Memorial will be impacted one way or another.
“Johnson said one of them involves ORMC’s relationship with Jasper Memorial Hospital in Monticello. Oconee Regional Health Systems, Inc. manages the hospital there.
“We don’t own them outright,” he said. “We have a long-term release which has a number of years still remaining on it. Our board members feel they are duty-bound to that hospital. We’ve taken them and made them feel like they were one of us. They are a part of us.”
