  1. I want more says:

I want my kids to have the best. It does not matter to me if it puts the county in debt for 25 years. Heck, they will be wanting to build a new building by then. And if you and your kids have to pay for it so my kids can have a brand new building so what? This is what government is all about. Spend for those that do not have and let those that do have pay for it.

  2. Let's Not Put Playtime Before Fiscal Responsiblity says:

While I’m sure that Jonathan Green is a fine fellow and means well, I do not share the vision he, bond sellers and adults living vicariously through children’s sports programs have of spending millions of Jasper County tax dollars to build,in the near future, a super Recreation/Sport Complex.

Jasper County taxpayers are already spending 60% of our annual budget on public schools, which also includes recreation via all sorts of sports programs. Is that not enough? Do we need to spend an even larger chunk of our budget to entertain the few, while infrastructure used by all, such as roads and bridges, decays and crumbles due to lack of funds?

According to Carl Pennamon, the county hasn’t even the vehicles to transport public works employees back and forth between road maintenance jobs, yet Jasper County can afford to build multimillion dollar sports facilities? How long can this fiscal foolishness go on before the adults step in and take the check-writing pen away?

  3. Living the dream says:

Since we have had 5 directors in 6 years…….maybe it ain’t the directors…………
