HAPPY NATIONAL MUTT DAY–BE AWARE OF MUTTS WAITING AT ANIMAL CONTROL SHELTERS

Happy National Mutt Day, also known as National Mixed Breed Dog Day! The goal for today is to raise awareness of homeless mixed breed dogs, and it was launched in 2005. There are actually two days set aside each year to celebrate the wonderfulness of mutts — July 31st and December 2nd.

The purpose of National Mutt Day is to embrace, celebrate and help save the lives of mixed breed dogs. It’s to raise awareness of the plight of lovable mutts waiting in shelters across the U.S. for a family to take them home.

Please read entire article from Dr. Karen Shaw Becker —https://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2017/12/02/celebrating-national-mutt-day.aspx

If you are considering donations to help animals, please consider Rescue Me Georgia that helps rescue dogs from the Jasper County shelter before the have a chance to be adopted and are considered for euthanasia, or Winging Cat Rescue that rescues cats from animal control shelters.

One Response to HAPPY NATIONAL MUTT DAY–BE AWARE OF MUTTS WAITING AT ANIMAL CONTROL SHELTERS

  1. Gay Morrison says:

Two of the best rescues available. I work with Winging Cat Rescue and can promise that this is one cat rescue that is all about the animals. If you or know some one interested in a cat look no further than Winging Cat Rescue. All cats and kittens will be socialized, spayed or neutered, microchipped, combo tested and are negative for both FIV and FeLV, dewormed and flea meds applied along with shots being current. Kittens will have age appropriate shots. Look them up on Facebook and the internet. Pet Finder and Adopt A Pet. They have cats up for adoption at all times in Pet Smart’s in McDonough and North Macon. Also at the Pet Sense in Griffin along with the two Pet Supermarkets in McDonough. There are also foster volunteers that bring their foster cats and kittens to the stores every Saturday and Sunday. They are always willing to meet potential adopters where ever is convenient.
You can always contact me for more adoption information also. Just please remember, everyone is working full time jobs in addition to full time foster care and adoptions. Sometimes patience is required for response to messages for the volunteer may be at work at the time of your inquiry. A response will come though, that is a promise! Thanks and Happy National Mutt Day and Cat Day because they would tell you they are better than mutts. LOL
